OUR HISTORY

Hi there! I’m John Lobo,  I’ve always had a deep appreciation for vintage and antique items, whether it’s a classic car, a Lambretta scooter, a Hercules bicycle, or genre paintings and utensils made of glass, wood, or clay.

As a chef with 20 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Michelin-starred chefs from various cuisines around the world, including Australia, Europe, and America.

Throughout these years, I’ve cooked for millions of guests, but the food that truly satisfies me is our local cuisine. However, I wanted to give it a fusion touch—keeping it traditional and authentic, yet adding a modern twist. That’s why it became our tagline! With a deep desire and passion for native food, I opened Vintage Restaurant on October 20th, 2019.

Although it was a challenging year due to the pandemic and the impact of Covid-19, we poured our heart and soul into reaching out to people by delivering food to their homes. We take pride in having provided free meals to the needy and less fortunate during those dark days. Their prayers have played a significant role in our continued strength and resilience.

We have dedicated immense effort to source local ingredients that carry the true essence of flavor and deserve recognition. Our goal is to introduce global audiences to local cuisine, with a particular focus on Goan and Malvani cuisine.
